Cup Noodles Korean BBQ-Review

Look, the Cup Noodles Korean BBQ Stir Fry is not a Michelin Star restaurant. I’ll say it again- the Cup Noodles Korean BBQ Stir Fry is not a Michelin Star restaurant. It is a cup of Cup Noodles with Korean BBQ sauce packets that cost like a $1. I mean, 380 calories, an absurd amount of salt, some rehydrated vegetables and meat (in this case pork) and you have a meal for $1. Is it good?

I tell you what…it’s pretty good. The texture is good. Depending on how you cook it and how long and so on, the noodles may vary, but their baseline is pretty good. I’ve always felt like Nissin had better noodles, especially in their Cup Noodle products. The garnishes…well i like them too. They don’t add much texture, but they make the meal much more visually appealing and add a little something to it. The pork isn’t great, but I expected very little and honestly was just happy there was so much of it. I won’t complain about the quality of pork in the Cup Noodles. That’s insane.

The flavor…I mean at first, it tasted like pizza, which is something I find to be more and more common in processed foods. Chemically, scientifically, what have you, the things that make up pizza are a winner with the American palate. But I think it was mostly because the top is just always overseasoned a little bit. Once I got into the middle and below it was more of what you’d expect. The seasoning here isn’t crazy. It’s not overbearing but I liked it and felt it was distinctive. A BBQ flavor is always tricky. I don’t think they nailed here, but I think they were in the neighborhood, very close. It’s very edible, tasty and very cheap. I can’t say for sure if it’s good Korean BBQ because I probably wouldn’t be eating this if I knew that.

The point is, because I keep these short, this is good tasting, reasonably good quality (bang for your buck) Cup Noodle that I think makes a respectable meal. It’s not that respectable. But it’s still respectable and it’s a dollar. $1. Your wallet will thank you even if your blood pressure won’t.
