Star Wars Arrives in Fortnite Once Again

The new Fortnite X Star Wars collab is here and I am hyped. Obviously, since you must be just as invested in this development as me, we should not waste any time. Let’s dive right in-

Battle Royale Changes

Battle Royale/Zero Build have added numerous Star Wars elements to your match experience, notably blasters, Stormtroopers, Chewbacca and Darth Vader. These elements all factor into the match in different ways, some big, some small. Here are the answers to the questions you’re probably asking:

Where can I find Darth Vader?

Darth Vader can be found at the very top of the map, on the island directly above Lavish Lair. That sounds vague, but I promise if you look at the map you’ll know exactly where I’m talking about.

Upon arriving here you can battle a deployment of Stormtroopers and of course, Darth Vader himself. If you can defeat the Sith Lord, you can get his lightsaber. Pretty straightforward once you learn the location.

Where Are the Stormtroopers?

Stormtrooper camps are distributed pretty liberally throughout the map. It’s a good balance. You’ll always be close to one, but you won’t feel like they’re annoying or overused.

Where is Chewbacca?

Chewbacca will located in one of the Stormtrooper camps. There's no specific one- the location is random. Kill the Stormtroopers at this specific Stormtrooper camp and free Chewbacca. He will then give you a Wookie Bowcaster and will follow you around as a companion for the rest of the match.

What blasters can I used?

Two. The Wookie Bowcaster, which functionally is more like the DMR, and the E-11, which is the default Stormtrooper weapon. Both are good and have infinite ammo, but I really like the E-11. It brings a solid rate of fire, good damage and great control. Just a great feeling blaster. It’s also much easier to find than the Wookie Bowcaster, as it is a drop from every Stormtrooper and it can be found throughout the map like a normal weapon.

If I Don’t Care About Any of This How Will It Affect My Games?

A lot, though it could be much worse. I don’t watch Avatar so I wasn’t that hyped about it, but those Event items (all the Bending Scrolls: bunch of bullshit in my opinion) were overpowered as hell and probably cost me like 3-4 wins. I’m positive that the E-11 blaster will become the new meta. It’s literally a gold weapon with infinite ammo and perfect specs that is abundant in the map. Everyone is gonna be using this because it just makes sense to do so, whether you like Star Wars or not.

Rocket Racing

I’ll admit that I don’t play much Rocket Racing. But it doesn’t appear that I’d be missing that much by not putting hours into Rocket Racing. This update mostly adds some quests that allow you to unlock Star Wars type accessories, such as a Darth Maul vehicle decal and an Anakin Skywalker Podracing one as well. There’s some cool stuff here if you like Rocket Racing I guess.

Fortnite Festival

In terms of Festival, it’s basically the same as Rocket Racing. There’s stuff you can get by playing songs and there’s some Star Wars song. There’s some new instruments you can unlock and stuff. But it’s definitely more of something extra than a focal point of this particular collab.

LEGO Fortnite

BAM! LEGO STAR WARS FORTNITE! It’s here! As someone who platinumed LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, this is a genuinely exciting development for me. There’s a new Star Wars pass that is pretty much exclusive to Lego and it gives you all kinds of cool builds. Truthfully, they don’t reinvent the wheel here, but they don’t have to. Just adding blasters and lightsabers makes the game more fun. I love the new Star Wars features. They add some focus and life to a game mode that frankly needed it.

Obviously the big thing here is the Season Pass, which is part of an 80(?) day event called Rebel Adventure. Yes, it’s concurrent with the 2 week May the Fourth celebration, but it also goes on much longer. And you can get a pass, which includes the Chewbacca skin.

As you can see in the image above, this is all of the stuff that comes in the LEGO pass. It’s mostly just LEGO accessories or smaller recipes in the free version, but if you pay you’ll be able to get some pretty nifty Tattoine inspired builds. In general, I think the rewards are pretty fair if you like the LEGO Fortnite mode. The big draw here is the Chewbacca skin, which people have wanted to see in the game for years.

One notable piece of information here too is that, unlike the main Star Wars collab, the Rebel Adventure collab will be going on for a long time, into the summer. So you’ll have plenty of time to get those rewards if you so desire. To get started, just spawn into your LEGO World and wait a few minutes and a Star Destroyer will crash land. Then a Rebel captain will appear and gives you some binoculars that will lead you to a cave that will lead you to the more Star Wars influenced world/map. It’s a smart way of separating the two experiences while still placing them within the same frame work.

Anywho, this article has already come out wayyyyy too late so I’m gonna end it here because that really was all of the key information.
