Wild Mike’s Ultimate Pizza- Review
We have to talk about this pizza. Because it was…kind of excellent. Truly a novel and good experience, with a frozen pizza at that. It’s not every you get a frozen pizza worth writing about. In fact, it almost never happens. But today it did. Let’s talk about Wild Mike’s Ultimate pizza.
First off- it’s very affordable, which is important. Ole Affordability Crisis. But this was $5-$6 for a 9 inch personal and it was a great deal. Very full right now and there was a ton of toppings. They also had a seasoning packet and a pepper packet, which really enhanced what already felt like a solid pizza. I could taste the Italian seasoning and the peppers and they merged into this wild and spicy flavor that almost…almost made me think I was in Italy, or a very low brow knockoff of Italy. Yeah, I’ve never been to Italy. But this is how I imagine their pizza, spicy, zesty, topping heavy and dense. Probably not frozen though.
The thing is, this pizza really was good and it makes me want to try more Wild Mike’s, but can it top this? With the peppers, the olives, the mozzarella and of course….pepperoni. I mean this thing was absolutely a Supreme. This was more Supreme than most chain pizzas. The crust? Passable, chewy and good. The toppings were of a quality that I respected and felt were worth my money and maybe a bit more. Cooking time- 14-18 minutes at 400. The seasoning and pepper packest are inside the wrapped pizza so there’s no risk of not getting them. 310 calories a serving, 4 servings, of which I ate 4, which means I did in fact eat 1240 calories today. For dinner. Whatever. Maybe I’ll get fat. That would be a new experience for me.
What else? The box art is cool….man I’m just stating facts about this pizza now. Shoo! Go buy it, try it. Am I crazy or just broke? Because I thought this was a perfectly fine pizza, frozen or not. I think even for a product such as this, it’s clear they put in some effort and went to some lengths to try and elevate this pizza and it shows. What you need to know is that it’s tasty and affordable and kind of fun to make too with the packets. Wild Mike’s….I’ll be back.
